We just released a new brand | Welcome Peacemaker by OAMC
This season we have added Peacemaker by OAMC to the roster. Through the Vic journal we keep our community updated on everything new, in-store and online. For our first journal we would like to introduce our newest brand addition.
Origins and Philosophy
OAMC is a contemporary menswear brand that redefines traditional workwear through the lens of street fashion, quality garments, and sociocultural awareness. Founded in 2013 by Luke Meier and Arnaud Faeh, "OAMC" is an acronym for "Over All Master Cloth".
Luke Meier, formerly the head designer at Supreme, brings a unique perspective that blends street culture with European and Japanese luxury craftsmanship. OAMC's collections are produced in top-tier Italian factories, utilizing innovative materials and construction techniques to create garments that are both functional and durable.
Each season, OAMC infuses its designs with sociological themes, addressing present-day issues through fashion. This approach results in clothing that is not only aesthetically compelling but also meaningful and relevant. OAMC has stated that: "It is important to give back to relevant causes, therefore OAMC partners with at least one charity each season."
The Peacemaker line by OAMC is a distinctive sub-collection within the fashion house founded by Luke Meier. This line merges military aesthetics with contemporary fashion, emphasizing themes such as sustainability, social justice, and cultural dialogue.
The Peacemaker collection originated as a reinterpretation of military garments, particularly the U.S. military M-65 quilted liner jacket. OAMC transforms these vintage pieces by overdyeing them, reconstructing their form, and adding the signature "PEACEMAKER" logo on the back. This approach highlights OAMC's commitment to sustainability and material reuse, with each garment retaining unique characteristics and imperfections that contribute to its individuality.
Collaborations and Social Engagement
OAMC has collaborated with various brands to further develop the brand. In 2019, OAMC partnered with Supreme to release a special edition of the Peacemaker jacket. This collaboration involved reworking surplus U.S. military M-65 quilted liner jackets, overdyeing them in black, and featuring both OAMC Peacemaker and Supreme logos. All profits from this release were donated to Immigrant Families Together, an organization dedicated to reuniting families separated by immigration policies.
Other collaborations include a limited edition of upcycled jackets with Japanese brand WTAPS, and a partnership with London's Gimme 5, resulting in a jacket featuring reflective details and co-branding.
